Woodstock Park and Old Oak FC - Presentation Night Sat 22.7.06
Old Oak FC and Woodstock Park FC held their
joint presentation night on Saturday with both celebrating a good season.
Woodstock Park U18's had completed their first
season ever in the Kent Youth League U18 South Division and whilst they
struggled a little they stayed in good spirit and are now looking forward to
their second year with renewed vigour.
Sportsman of The Year was Tom Lanson, The
Golden Boot Winner was Ross Bryant, Managers Player Luke Walsaw and Players
Player Dave Sedge. The U18's bring Chatham Town to the Park for a friendly on
13.8.06 and the might of Enfield Town on 20.8.06.
The Senior Team after a bad start had a tremendous
run from November onwards and ended up bringing home The Weald of Kent Charity
Cup for the first time.
Sportsman of The Year was Anthony Dipper,
The Golden Boot Winner for the 4th year in a row was James Ellis, Managers
Player Danny Vecchiolla, and Players Player Terry Smith. Park in only
their fourth season of existence presented commemorative shields to the first
two players to notch up 100 appearances Veteran Keeper Mark Rees and Player of
The year Terry Smith. New club secretary for next season David Brown picked up
the services award as the hardest working club member during the year.
Woodstock Park's first Friendly is a home game with Coulsdon Town Saturday
12.8.06 3pm kick off.
Old Oak celebrated promotion from Division 2 of
The Medway League and on the night their league runners up medals were
presented. Oak also ended up runners up in The Medway Charity Cup where
they lost on penalties.
Sportsman Of The Year was Simon Hutchings,
Golden Boot Winner Terry Smith, Managers Player Anthony Dipper and Players
Player Terry Smith.
Woodstock and Old Oak are still looking for
players for the coming season 2006/2007 and anyone interested should attend
the training sessions every Wednesday at the club throughout August @ 7.30pm.
The Park opens on the 30.7.06 with the usual
curtain raiser The Medway Sunday League 7 a side competition which is followed
up by The Rochester and District League 7's Saturday 5.8.06. Any Clubs looking
to hire pitches at Woodstock Park for pre-season games should note that they
are available weekends from 6.8.06 to 27.8.06 and can be booked by calling
Colin now on 01634 850144. All pitches allocated on a first come first served
basis so do not delay booking.
