Anchorians Athletic 1 Vs Old Oak Reserves 3

Charity Cup Quarter Final

Oaks recent run of good form in cup competitions lead them to another quarter final, once again against a team from a higher division. (Anchorians Athletic from division 2), the home team started brightly and nearly took the lead with a couple of well-worked early chances. However it was the Oak Reserves who took the initiative, a Robbie Walburton shot pinged back off the post and was half cleared before Paul Fookes headed back to the edge of the area for John Showler to, on the volley smash home the opener.  The half looked like it would end with the Sittingbourne side coming in one up but Anchorians had other ideas, another good move stretched the Oak defence and a neat cut back lead to the home sides equaliser.  1 - 1

The Oak pressed forward looking to regain their lead, forcing a corner. Paul Fookes whipped the ball in; it took a bounce and flew in the bottom corner 2-1 Oak.

The second half was a similar affair with both sides pushing forward, Anchorians looked as if they would get a equaliser, and came close on a couple of occasions, Andy Hopkinson making some great saves to maintain the Oaks lead.

It was John Showler who finally settled the game with 20 minutes to play the ball bounced out of the Anchorians area and from 20 yards was powered crisply into the top left corner.

There was a few edgy moment towards the end of the game, Anchorians earning a penalty from a unlucky Simon Hutchins hand ball, however the home side failed to convert and the Oak march on to the semi final of another cup competition. Let’s hope all this hard work leads to at least one final.

Sat 15th January 2005: Weald Of Kent Senior Charity Cup 1st rd
Woodstock Park 0 Betteshanger Welfare 0 AET  Woodstock won 3-0 on Penalties
Having lost narrowly twice already this season to unbeaten league leaders Betteshanger, Woodstock were in no mood to make it third time unlucky this week in the Weald of Kent Charity Cup.

Some very resolute defending from the Sittingbourne side was the feature from a team who previously had kept only one clean sheet all season. After 120 minutes there was no score and they were very happy with their efforts.  Woodstock were even more pleased with the performance of young centre half Peter Halls playing his first full game since being sidelined for several weeks with injury.

For the second week running it was a dramatic penalty shoot out to decide the match and just like last weeks win over Sheppey Utd the home sides veteran keeper Mark Rees was the hero. He made it even easier this time around by saving Betteshanger's first two efforts and with Aaron Hayward, Simon Davies and Richard King netting Woodstock's first three it was enough to put the visitors third taker off and he blasted wide for a 3-0 home win. Full marks also to Simon Davies who has sat on the bench for most of this season but he was still confident enough to slot the second penalty away after playing a big part in extra time coming on yet again in the role of super sub.

Woodstock travel to old rivals Tyler Hill next week in the league with a 2pm kick off.

Sun 16th January 2005: MMSFL Junior Charity Cup 2nd Round
Old Oak Reserves 4 Lloyds Sports and Social Reserves 1
Old Oaks first team did not have a game this week and it was up to their reserves to carry on the clubs good cup traditions with the hope of booking a place in the quarter final of the league charity cup.

They went a goal down in the first half to Lloyds Reserves and with much of their play bitty and disjointed it seemed that there was no way back for the Home team. The score was still 1-0 to the visitors with 15 minutes left and suddenly it all clicked for the Oak who are to be fair having a good season and had beaten Lloyds comfortably in an earlier encounter. They soon got over Rob Warburton's penalty miss and a rapid hat-trick from Alex Johnson his second of the season to add to one from Roy Sams gave the Oak a very good 4-1 win.
British Energy Kent County Football Association League Inter Regional Challenge Cup
Rd 3 Sat 8.1.05 Woodstock Park 3 Sheppey Utd 3 AET 4-2 on penalties

The all Division One East clash in the Inter Regional Challenge Cup 3rd round saw a local derby between Woodstock Park and Sheppey and it took a penalty shoot out to decide the winners.

Woodstock suffered their biggest defeat of the season in the away league match before Christmas and they were in the mood for revenge in this game. They dominated the first half and goals from James Ellis (penalty) and Aaron Hayward gave them a 2-0 half time lead. Sheppey missed the chance to halve the deficit before the break missing a first half penalty.

The second half was dominated by the visitors Sheppey and they brought the match level at 2-2 by the end of the 90 minutes.  Sheppey also dominated the first period of extra time and were on course for victory thanks to the three goals in the hour that they were on top from Jamie Allen, Andy Keay and Lenny Whiting.

The second period of extra time and it was the home sides turn again to be on top using all three subs to good advantage. With time running out Woodstock threw everything at Sheppey and at times it seemed that player manager Mick Rees was the lone defender. Russell Booth brought a fine save from the visiting keeper, and in another attack beat him only to see his goal bound shot handled on the line. The visiting player was sent off but Terry Smiths weak penalty was easily saved.

Booth made it third time lucky when he capped a fine performance by scoring with a low shot from the edge of the box in the 120th minute to force the tie to penalties at 3-3 or a better description an hour of play each!

Penalties decided it in the home teams favour and James Ellis, Aaron Hayward, Terry Smith and Richard King scored the four that were needed with Woodstock's evergreen keeper Mark Rees saving two of the Sheppey penalties for a 4-2 victory. Woodstock now travel to premier division Lydd Town on the 5th February in the Quarter Finals. Next week Woodstock are at home in The Weald of Kent Charity Cup against the Division One East unbeaten leaders Betteshanger Welfare kick off 1.30pm at the Park.

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Senior League Cup Semi Final
Sun 9.1.05 Old Oak 2 Cricketers Utd 0
In their 30 years in the Medway League Old Oak have managed to win all the various cup competitions apart from the Senior League Cup where they have never even reached the final before. It really has been their bogey competition going out usually at the first hurdle.

It is with some amazement then that in their worst season ever where they are rock bottom of the Senior Section that the hoodoo has finally been broken. On Sunday they beat Cricketers Utd against the odds and the form book in the Semi Final 2-0. Cricketers had already beaten them in the league and knocked them out of the Kent Cup. On thirty minutes a quick Mick Rees free kick put Scotty Crammond in on goal and the player was brought down for James Ellis to convert the penalty.

Cricketers were given an immediate lifeline when they were awarded a penalty for what seemed more ball to hand then anything, their penalty however, crashed against the bar. The second half saw Oak defend well and ride their luck a bit. As Cricketers pressed Oak were having some success with counter attacks and twice Aaron Hayward could have ended the game going close with one break and hitting the post on another.

Finally with three minutes left James Ellis ended the contest when he rounded the keeper for 2-0 and the start of some wild celebrations that went on all afternoon. Oak do not have a game next week.

Swallow rise 93 Vs Old Oak Res

09.01.05

League

Oak Reserves were away this week to league leaders Swallow Rise, playing on what can only be described as poor pitch, the first half was a scrappy affair. Both teams however did create chances and Oak probably the better, John Showler displaying some neat flicks and strength to carve out a couple of opportunities but to no avail.

The second half was much the same with chances at both ends, the best being a well worked move from Oak finishing with Al Johnson rounding the keeper only to fire just wide of the mark. With the score still 0 – 0 and 15 minutes to play the home side forced the issue, bringing some resilient defending from the Oak back five.  The game finished 0-0

Oak Res now need to regain some of their pre-Christmas form if they are to challenge for the league title.

British Energy Kent County League Division One East
Woodstock Park 2 Betteshanger 3
After last weeks upset by knocking Premier outfit Snodland out of the cup Woodstock Park came back down to earth with a home defeat against one of only two unbeaten teams in the division Betteshanger.

The Sittingbourne side have a good past record against the team from Deal but this year their visitors have hit a purple patch. Without top marksman James Ellis Woodstock had to rely on Aaron Hayward and Terry Smith to twice bring them back level at 1-1 and then 2-2.

2-2 would have been a fair result on the day but when you are on the sort of run Betteshanger are having you do get scruffy last minute winners.

Sunday 28th November 2004
Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Senior League Cup.
Old Oak 4 Pegasus 2
Oak's league form and ability to even field a team has been woeful of late but on Sunday they had at last something to cheer about in the Cup.

There had been much talk about this game with The Medway papers predicting a cup upset from the team from the Premier Division, Pegasus. Oak fielded just about their strongest team for many weeks and they were up for this one with their first goal coming straight from the kick off at the start of the match! Only two players touched the ball Adam Overton and Chris Pearce with Pearce the scorer in one of the fastest goals ever. All you could say was that it was less than a minute !

Overton scored a second with a good bit of skill but the visitors pulled one back just before half time. When Pegasus equalised early in the second half it was time to gamble. The injured but prolific James Ellis was thrown into the fray and first his cross shot was turned in by Pearce and a 4th goal came the courtesy of his own boot and skill.

This competition is a bogey one for the Sittingbourne side as they almost always go out in the first round. In 1992 they did lose in the semi-final however and this is the stage they have now reached this year.

Saturday 20.11.04
The Bill Manklow Inter-Regional Challenge Cup 2nd Round
Woodstock Park 2 Snodland 1
During Woodstock's first two seasons in the County League  they could not buy a cup win but this year all that has changed as they seem to be saving some of their best performances for the cups.

On Saturday they caused something of an upset as they knocked out a team from the higher divsion when they won by the odd goal in three at home to Premier division Snodland.

Richard King gave the Sittingbourne side a first half lead with a fine strike and for much of a very even game it seemed that could be the final score.

Snodland did press very hard in the second half but for once the Woodstock team were putting in a much better defensive performance. However, when Rob Wade equalised it was no more than the visitors had deserved. Within a few minutes though Woodstock were back in front when top marksman James Ellis restored their lead which they held onto until the final whistle. For the first time this season the home team Manager Mick Rees was happy with his teams defending.

The third round will see Woodstock at home to Sheppey United on the 8.1.05. Next week they are back in League action at home to unbeaten Betteshanger with the kick off at The Park 2.00pm

Sunday 21.11.04
MMSFL Senior Section
Sheppey United 5 Old Oak 1
With nine first team regulars missing it was very much down to just 11 fit men including two goalkeepers and an injured player for the trip to Sheppey. This really is a torrid time for the Sittingbourne team as they have been unable to field the same team two weeks running all season and things really cauight up with them this week.

The missing players almost amount to a whole team and whilst those who were left gave the best display they could they were still sent crashing 5-1 by Sheppey United.
The Sittingbourne sides consolation being scored by leading goalscorer Adam Overton.

Oak are rooted to the bottom of the table and will be hoping to get back at least half of their missing players for a league cup quarter final next week at home to Pegasus 81.

Kent Junior Cup 2nd round replay
Old Oak Res 3 Plough and Chequers 2
Oak's first team could not call on any help from their reserves this week as they were down to just 11 fit men for the third division teams Kent Cup replay at home to Premier Division Plough and Chequers.

To give them two subs for what had the makings of another marathon match like the first one they pressed into service two players carrying injuries Ian Clay and Kevin Dunk. Clay had a good first half in the Oak defence and Dunk had an even better one in midfield scoring two goals to give his side a 2-0 half time lead. Neither Clay or Dunk were fit enough to take the field in the second half and they were replaced by manager Darren Small and Paul Fookes.

Plough and Chequers showed why they were three divisions higher than Oak in the second half and they were soon back on level terms at 2-2. With minutes to go and Oak reserves dreading extra time like the first game super sub Fookes crashed home the winner in emphatic style. Both rounds have taken extra time and replays and the reward for all Oaks hard work is a third round match at home on the 5.12.04 to yet another Premier division side Pentagon. Next Sunday Oak are away to Inter Sports at Snodhurst bottom knowing a win will put them top of division three. Oaks injury list for both teams is the main cause for concern.

7.11.04

Kent Junior Cup

Old Oak Reserves from division three of the Medway Messenger Sunday Football League travelled to premiership opposition Plough and Chequers this week for the second round of the Kent Junior Cup looking for their seventh straight victory. Hopes of maintaining this rich vein of form were soon under threat, and after a couple of lapses in concentration they found themselves 2-0 down by half time.

The half-time team talk seemed to do the trick as Oak came out quickest in the second half, and soon pulled one back after a quick free kick from Roy Sams let in Martin Walker to score. Oak went onto dominate the second half and thoroughly deserved their Robbie Warburton equalizer.

Extra time was very open with a lot of tired legs, and when what was by now a nine man Chequers took the lead it looked like a lot of hard work could have gone to waste for the Sittingbourne side. A Kevin Dunk penalty ensured this wasn’t the case, final score 3-3 and a replay fixed for Woodstock Park Sunday 21st November 2004  kick off 10.30am.

30.10.04

British Energy Kent County Football Association League Division One East

Woodstock Park 4 University of Kent 3

This was a thrilling game for everyone except the team managers and home manager Mick Rees was not a happy man following his teams narrow win. Woodstock are exciting going forward but they keep very few clean sheets and this is something that they will have to deal with if they are to progress. Woodstock would be top of the division this week but they are the one team in the top half of the table to suffer from the sad recent withdrawal of Snowdown CW.

Losing those three points and six goals from the Snowdown game meant that Woodstock could afford no slip ups and top goalscorer James Ellis was in no mood to let the visitors get an early foothold. The striker who missed a lot of last season was back to his best and he latched on to a through ball for a trade mark finish within five minutes. The students were back on level terms soon after though when the home team made a series of errors followed by three good opportunities to clear their lines with Ramsay Gashut cashing in and scoring from close range. The home teams lead was restored when Andy Faithful was brought down in the box for Terry Smith to convert the penalty. Another trade mark Ellis goal gave Woodstock a 3-1 advantage but again they shot themselves in the foot when defender Peter Halls conceded a penalty right on the stroke of half time, which Gashut scored from for his second, to narrow the lead to 3-2.

Ellis's strike partner Aaron Hayward was rewarded for his hard work early in the second half when he charged down a clearance from the visiting keeper to score. At 4-2 Woodstock should have been able to hold on with ease but late on Ramsay Gashut completed his hat-trick for the visitors to set up a nervy final few minutes with Woodstock holding on for a win they just about deserved - but only just!   Woodstock visit unbeaten Betteshanger Welfare next Saturday in the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield for which they will be without a few regulars from what has been a very settled side this year.

9.10.04

British Energy Kent County Football Association League Division One East

Woodstock Park 2 Kennington 2
Woodstock's visitors have not won in the league this year but have only lost once and have drawn all the rest of their games with mostly teams in and around the top of the division. It was a disappointment then when Woodstock decided to put in their worst performance of the season so far against a team that were obviously not going to give much away.

A classic counter attacking goal opened the scoring when defending a corner the home side broke and finished with a Rob Warburton pile driver from 30 yards. Attacking has not been a problem for Woodstock since they joined the league and they are the divisions leading scorers at the moment. They are still weak in defending leads and yet again they threw this one away with Steve Rice equalising for the visitors. Warburton had to leave the field soon after with a bad eye injury and with the visitors getting men behind the ball the half ended 1-1.

A dull second half with only a good save from each keeper to brighten it up was finally ended when Woodstocks full back Sean Higginson smuggled the ball into a crowded box for Richard King to score with a good shot to the top right corner. Yet again Woodstock could not hold on to the lead and with five minutes left sub Ian Ruck scored from the edge of the box to give the visitors another draw which they deserved fully.

The draw keeps Woodstock in second place but they are kicking themselves over not taking the chance to go top. Next week Woodstock visit Oakwood in the league kick off 2.45pm @ Honey Lane, Otham

10.10.04

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Senior Section

Woodcoombe 5 Old Oak 2
Having to make five changes from the previous weeks winning team did not help Oak, losing two players to injury early in the game brought the number to seven. However there can be no excuse to just how bad Oak played, by far their worst performance so far this year. Woodcombe raced into a 3-0 half time lead and then scored straight after the break for 4-0. In fact it was not until they went 5-0 down did Oak show any signs of coming to life with two late goals from James Ellis and Adam Overton. Oak will be hoping to have some players back for next weeks home game with Rainham Sports otherwise things will get a lot worse for the Sittingbourne side.

10.10.04

Kent Junior Cup Preliminary Round Replay

Old Oak Reserves 3 Bly Spartans 0
After a 4-4 thriller at Bly a couple of weeks ago things were all set up for another ding dong in the replay. Oaks second string showed further signs of getting back in the grove with another good soild all round performance in their 3-0 replay win.

Jon Showler scored for Oak and he has started to get back to last seasons form and last years player of the year Martin Walker returned to grab the other two.

2.10.04
British Energy Kent County Football Association League Division One East
Bliby 1 Woodstock Park 5
After last weeks first defeat of the season Woodstock needed to bounce back and the team were wondering what changes Manager Mick Rees was going to make. To everyone's surprise Mick declared himself fit to play his first game of the season and the veteran centre backs inclusion had the desired effect. Young centre back partner Peter Halls game always improves when the experienced player manager is alongside him and on 10 minutes he headed home a Terry Smith corner to give the visitors to Bliby in Ashford the lead.

From the kick off Woodstock won the ball, went straight up the other end, forced a corner, which Smith delivered to the head of Halls again and the tall centre back obliged with another header for his second goal inside a minute. The rest of the half was quite even until on 40 minutes Woodstock were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and the player manager Rees duly banged it home for a 3-0 half time lead, all three goals coming from their centre backs at dead ball situations!

The second half saw the Sittingbourne side go further in front with their fourth goal coming from a more usual source their main striker James Ellis. At 4-0 Mick Rees had the opportunity to give all three subs a run which he did causing a little unsettled period. The home side were awarded a penalty during this time and that brought the score back to 4-1.

One of the three subs brought on was Kevin Dunk and his superb 35 yard lob over the keeper was the goal of the game and a perfect end for Woodstock who moved back up to second, a point behind the leaders. Next week Woodstock are at home to Kennington in what looks like a close game in the making.

3.10.04
Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Senior Section
Old Oak 4 Black Lion 2
With three of their normal back four missing Oak drafted in two veteran centre backs Clifton Phillips and Mick Rees for their first games of the season and it looked like it was not going to work on 3 minutes as Andy Poad pounced and scored for the visitors. All this did though was wake Oak up and on 10 minutes James Ellis headed an equaliser with Adam Overton and Chris Pearce adding two more to give the home side a 3-1 half time lead and control of the game.

James Ellis scored his second and Oaks fourth in the second half and at 4-1 player manager Rees gave all three subs a run. Oak missed several more chances before John Coleman pulled one back for the visitors for a final 4-2 score. Next week Oak visit local rivals Woodcoombe and not as published the other local team Sittingbourne Rangers.

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Division Three
Co-op 1 Old Oak Reserves 2
The game was all over by half time when Oak's reserves visited Co-op Sheerness. Jon Showler gave Oak the lead with the home side equalising from a corner. Paul Fookes gave the Sittingbourne side a 2-1 half time lead which they held onto for a deserved victory. After losing their first league game 0-8 Oaks second string have bounced back with two wins. The much awaited Kent Junior Cup preliminary round replay at home to Bly Spartans is next week kick off at Woodstock Park 10.30am.

British Energy Kent County Football Association LeagueDivision One East
Saturday 25.9.04: Woodstock Park 0 Tyler Hill 2
The clash of the two old rivals who joined the league at the same time saw the visitors record their first win of the season knocking previously unbeaten top side Woodstock off their perch.

Woodstock's form of the first three weeks deserted them this week and although they lost Wayne Cook in the 18th minute to an injury it was no excuse as they were out run and out fought in the first half and were in debt to keeper Mark Rees for going in only one down at half time. The verteran made a number of saves with a couple of them out of the top draw.

Further injuries to Russell Booth and Andy Faithful who left the field early in the second half disrupted further what has been a settled side over the opening games. With the game at 0-1 for a long period though Woodstock were always in with a chance of a come back and they evenytually did reorganise. The usually reliable James Ellis and partner Aaron Hayward both squandered a number of chances in this half and it was just one of those days when the team could not find the net and would not have done if the game had been three hours long!

Eventually with ten minutes left Tyler Hill sealed a deserved victory which was followed by some frantic attacking form the homeside and a number more of missed chances including one of astonishment to all when from a yard out Hayward hit a firm shot against the keepers legs and over the bar.

Woodstock will want to find their shooting boots again and get back to winning ways when they visit Bliby in Ashford next week.

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Division Three
Sunday 26th September: Old Oak Reserves 1 Sporting Sittingbourne 0
With several more players now available Oaks second string were back to full strength for the first time this season and they did not need to use any first team players who this week were without a game.

It was a battle of the two division three teams that play at Woodstock Park and throughout it was a very, very, even affair. Oak defended well throughout and when the defence in which Ian Clay was outstanding was ever breached Sporting found that keeper Andy Hopkinson had returned to his form of last year.

Not that many chances at either end then and it was no surprise when an own goal settled this local derby in Oaks favour when a draw would have been a truer reflection. Oak Reserves were not complaining though as it was their first win of the season.

Saturday 18th September 2004: Woodstock Park 6 St Margaret's 1
Having scored 14 goals in their first two games St Margaret's were the
leaders of the division when they came to fourth placed Woodstock Park on
Saturday but by the end of the match the teams had just about swapped places
with Park going to the top of the division for the first time ever.
The early stages were cagey until on ten minutes the home sides leading
scorer of the last two seasons James Ellis broke the deadlock with a trade
mark strikers finish. This lit the blue touch paper for a top draw thirty
five minute spell which ended this match as a contest. On the half hour the
ever improving Terry Smith danced round two defenders to crash an
unstoppable shot in off the crossbar. Five minutes before the half had
completed Aaron Hayward scored following an excellent passing sequence to
make it 3-0.
A bitty stop start fifteen minute spell at the beginning of the second half
was ended when Hayward popped up to grab his second. At 4-0 the visitors got
a consolation from a corner with the home sides defence asleep for the only
time in the game.
Long serving Rob Warburton hit one of his screamers form the edge of the box
which the visiting keeper made a hash of to make it 5-1 but the best of the
lot came when Smith got his second curling a free kick around the wall from
the edge of the box for 6-1.
Next Saturday Woodstock will be looking to maintain top spot when they meet
old rivals Tyler Hill at home with a 2.45pm kick off at the park.

Kent Sunday Premier Cup

Sunday 19th September 2004: Old Oak 2 Cricketers Utd 4
Old Oak were well in control of this game taking an early 2-0 lead through
Scott Crammond and Adam Overton.
Two penalty decisions against them in a five minute spell thereafter ended
this match as a contest. The first it seemed Oak had been awarded a free
kick for an off the ball charge by the attacker only to see the referee
point to the spot on the assistants advice. The second was for a hand ball
when James Day put up his hands in front of his face to protect himself from
a well struck shot. Not only was a penalty awarded but Day was sent off
leaving Oak to play for an hour with just 10 men.
The match was poised at 2-2 for a long period but two late goals from which
Oak could not recover ended their involvement in this years County Cup.

Kent Junior Cup

Sunday 19th September: Bly Spartans 4 Old Oak Res 4 AET
After two bad defeats Oak second string finally got their act together
forcing a replay with Bly Spartans.
Feature of the game was a hat-trick from Oak's long serving committee member
Rob Warburton. Rob is now approaching veteran status and he says the last
hat-trick he scored was when he was 14!

British Energy Kent County Football Association League Division One East

Saturday 11th September 2004: Snowdown CW FC 0 Woodstock Park FC 6

After a hard fought 1-1 draw last week at home to New Romney in their
opening match Woodstock Park found it a little easier this week with their
first away match at Snowdown CW. It did not go their way for a long period
however and they were possibly fortunate to go in 2-0 at the break following
an even and hard fought first half.

Terry Smith who has been a revelation this season in a new central midfield
role scored 2 goals which paved the way for a victory that was comfortable
in the end at 6-0. The other 4 strikes coming from James Ellis, Aaron
Hayward, Andy Faithful and substitute veteran striker Simon Halls.

After two matches St Magarets are on top of the table following two big wins
and it is the early season leaders that visit Woodstock Park this coming
Saturday the 18.9.04 with a kick off of 2.45pm in what should be a good
game.

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Senior League Cup 1st Round

Sunday 12th September 2004: Old Oak FC 3 Bounty FC 1
An early strike by Scott Crammond seemed to be paving the way for Senior
Section Old Oak to record an easy win against first division outfit Bounty.
The visitors however made it very difficult for the home side and it was not
until late in the second half did two strikes from Andy Doerr make the
passage into the next round safe. Sandwiched between the two Doerr strikes
was a goal from the visitors Paul Thomas who never gave up the fight.

Medway Messenger Sunday Football League Junior League Cup 1st Round

Sunday 12th September 2004: Lordswood Panthers 3 Old Oak Reserves 0

Old Oak Reserves suffered their second defeat of the season in succession
without again scoring a goal. The team at the moment is not looking a patch
on last seasons promoted side but over the next few weeks players should
return to get them back on track.

The prolific scorer Roy Sams will play his first game next week as will a
few more returning regulars. Oak put up a good fight but were short on
numbers when injuries prevailed. Lack of a cutting edge is the main reason
they could not stay in this match with the home side eventually running out
comfortable winners.
